Elizabeth Debicki captivated attendees at the Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art exhibition gala dinner in London’s South Kensington on Tuesday evening. The 35-year-old Australian actress posed confidently in a striking naked torso illusion dress featuring a high neckline, sleeveless design, and figure-hugging bodice with a bold print.

She paired the gown with black pointed slingback heels and statement gold earrings, while sweeping her blonde hair into an elegant updo to let the dress shine.

Daisy Edgar-Jones Steals the Spotlight

Daisy Edgar-Jones, 27, arrived in an effortlessly chic beige co-ord. The outfit included a structured funnel-neck top with gold button details and a matching midi skirt with an asymmetric hemline. She completed the look with pointed black heels and a mini black clutch, highlighting her petite frame.

About the Exhibition

The V&A exhibition marks the UK’s first dedicated showcase on Elsa Schiaparelli, tracing her influence from the 1920s to today.

Elizabeth Debicki’s Emmy Triumph

Debicki recently won her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for portraying Princess Diana in The Crown. She accepted the award from Only Murders in the Building star Da’Vine Joy Randolph at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, appearing elated on stage.

“I didn’t write anything down because I’m very superstitious and now I’m in a real pickle,” Debicki joked. She thanked The Crown writer Peter Morgan, producers, cast, crew, and hair and makeup artist Deb Ormrod. “Gosh, playing this part based on this unparalleled incredible human being has been my great privilege. It has been a gift,” she added.

She wore a low-cut Christian Dior gown for the occasion.

Audition Stories with Emma Corrin

Debicki and The Crown co-star Emma Corrin, who played Diana in season four, recently shared their audition experiences during Variety’s Actors on Actors series. Debicki auditioned for a season two guest role after season one aired.

“Maybe we’re better at acting when we’re not trying,” Debicki said. “I went in for the Season 2 part, and I got an email a few days later from my agent saying, ‘Not that part, but we are thinking…’ I guess they must have felt something Diana in it.”

She watched the series for years, hoping for another chance, but thought it was a “nice dream” after Corrin was cast. Debicki portrayed Diana in seasons five and six, capturing her final years before the 1997 Paris car crash at age 36.

Debicki faced challenges with Diana’s voice: “What you as the actor playing that character owe the audience is a very specific sonic imprint. I felt a huge responsibility… For Diana, it felt like a music.”

Corrin, 28, focused on Diana’s mannerisms, especially from her post-engagement interview: “The most quintessential bit, for me, was the post-engagement interview. The mannerisms that she had, they appear in the moment where she’s under such intense emotional stress. They almost become tics.”

Both actresses have earned Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards for their performances.
