Colossal Hotel Debuts on Baltic Coast with Unprecedented Amenities

A massive new hotel, set to become the largest in Poland, is opening its doors this week on the Baltic Sea. The five-star Gołęsbiewski Pobierowo, a sprawling 80,000 square meter complex, will welcome its first guests on Wednesday, June 17.

Impressive Scale and Capacity

Boasting thirteen floors and 1,240 rooms, the hotel positions itself as a significant player in Europe’s hospitality scene. While not the absolute largest on the continent, it ranks a respectable third, trailing behind London’s Royal National Hotel with 1,630 rooms and Bucharest’s Rin Grand Hotel with 1,459 rooms.

Rooms at the hotel, located in the Polish resort town of Pobierowo, are available for booking, with prices starting at approximately €350 (£300) per night. Luxury suites can reach up to €900 (£775).

Initial booking interest has been substantial, with marketing chief Marta Masłowska reporting over 2,000 reservations made within the first 24 hours of availability. However, it has been noted that only 500 of the 1,240 rooms are completed at this time.

World-Class Facilities and Activities

Guests can anticipate a wealth of amenities designed for relaxation and entertainment. A standout feature is the expansive outdoor pool, measuring an impressive 104 meters in length and 60 meters in width – more than double the standard Olympic size. Complementing the pool is a comprehensive water park, offering whirlpools, water slides, a sauna, and a salt grotto.

Beyond the aquatic attractions, the hotel is slated to include a cinema and a supermarket. For the more active traveler, plans are in place for climbing walls, a bowling alley, and volleyball courts. The lobby will feature live piano music, and there will be a dedicated disco and entertainment area for children.

The hotel’s website also promises four themed restaurants, though specific details on these themes remain undisclosed.

Prime Location and Surrounding Attractions

The Gołęsbiewski Pobierowo is situated along the picturesque Plaża w Pobierowie, a two-and-a-half-mile stretch of beach characterized by soft white sand and the clear waters of the Baltic Sea.

Nearby, visitors can explore charming seaside villages like Trzęsacz, known for its 15th-century church and an interactive historical museum. The town of Pobierowo itself, a short drive away, offers summer attractions including an outdoor inflatable park and a treetop climbing experience, making it a popular spot for active holidays.

A Legacy of Hospitality

The development of this significant hotel is the vision of the late entrepreneur Tadeusz Gołębiowski. His career began as a waffle baker, leading to the founding of the biscuit manufacturer Tago in 1972, and eventually culminating in the creation of a substantial hotel empire.

An Instagram account dedicated to the hotel has already garnered a significant following, with over 9,000 followers.

Growing Appeal of Poland’s Baltic Coast

Pobierowo is approximately an hour’s drive from Solidarity Szczecin-Gōłeniów Airport, which receives flights from various European cities. With flight times under two hours from London, this Polish coastal destination is emerging as an attractive option for short seaside breaks.

In recent years, Poland’s Baltic region has seen a notable increase in visitor numbers. Tourists are increasingly seeking milder climates, opting for the Baltic coast over the intense heat often experienced in Southern Europe. Cities like Gdańsk, Sopot, and the coastal cliffs near Gdynia have become popular destinations.

Katarzyna Śmierzchalska, marketing manager at Hotel Nadmorski in Gdynia, noted that the Polish coast is attracting more international visitors seeking an escape from extreme heat. This trend is also evident further east along the Baltic Coast, with resorts in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania experiencing a rise in tourism.

Lithuania’s tourism board reported a record 10 million international arrivals in its capital, Vilnius, in 2025. Coastal areas such as Palanga are also gaining popularity among holidaymakers looking for beach destinations without the intense heat and crowds associated with the Mediterranean.
