Gavin Rossdale shares fond memories of a pool day with Britney Spears and her children during their time as neighbors in the mid-2000s.

Neighborly Swim Session

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Rossdale, 60, confirmed an old anecdote from Spears about swimming together. Co-host Evan Real asked if he remembered the occasion.

“Of course,” Rossdale replied. “How could you forget that?”

He explained that Spears visited his home when his children were young. “She was a real character, and I got on really well with her. She was lovely. She was amazing. She’s a great swimmer,” he added.

Shared Neighborhood History

Rossdale and his former wife, Gwen Stefani, lived next door to Spears in The Summit, a gated community in Beverly Hills. Spears mentioned the neighborly connection in a 2015 interview with Australia’s The Project, noting she swam with Stefani’s husband and admired the No Doubt frontwoman.

Rossdale and Stefani, married for 13 years, divorced in 2016. They share sons Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12. Stefani, 56, married Blake Shelton in 2021. At the time, Spears had recently divorced Kevin Federline after three years, sharing sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.

When asked if his sons played with Spears’ boys, Rossdale joked, “Too busy chatting with Britney.”

Rossdale continues to support Spears publicly. In 2021, she posted a video dancing to Bush’s “Glycerine,” calling it her high school favorite. He reposted it, writing, “i love you – best video – sweetest words.”

In 2023, he shared another clip of her dancing to the song, praising her openness about personal struggles. “I had the pleasure of waking up to @britneyspears dancing to glycerine,” he wrote, acknowledging her skill at masking pain. “Everyone walks around wounded to some degree. It’s so liberating and essential when someone with Britney’s reach addresses true and hidden feelings.”
