Stars from the beloved comedy Gavin & Stacey mark the show’s 19th anniversary with a heartfelt family reunion on a new podcast.
Cast Gathers for Milestone Celebration
Mathew Horne and Joanna Page, who portray Gavin and Stacey, join forces with Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, known as Mick and Pam Shipman, for the episode. The gathering occurs a year and a half after the series’ final episode aired.
Mathew Horne, 47, shares in a recent TikTok video: “It’s some of the cast of Gavin & Stacey here. We’ve just been told this morning that it is 19 years to the day since the first episode of Gavin & Stacey was broadcast.”
Alison Steadman reacts with surprise: “It’s unbelievable, I can’t believe it.” Larry Lamb adds humor: “All of us, we’re 19 years younger.”
New Podcast Announcement
The actors reminisce about the popular series during the recording for their upcoming podcast, Table For Four, set to launch this summer. Mathew Horne explains: “It’s been nice reminiscing around the table over some food about it.”
Joanna Page notes: “It’s been nice interviewing the in-laws and you interviewing your parents. We honestly haven’t changed a bit.”
Fans Demand More Episodes
Viewers flood the TikTok comments, urging writers James Corden and Ruth Jones to revive the show. One fan pleads: “James and Ruth, we need more please bring back a new series.” Others chime in: “Jokes over, bring it back now.” and “Please do a reunion for the 20th!”
Future Projects on Horizon
While no new Gavin & Stacey series is planned for BBC, James Corden, 47, and Ruth Jones, 59, have secured a seven-figure deal last autumn. The project shifts to streaming service Apple TV+.
