Gayle King addressed viral AI-generated marriage ceremony photographs throughout _CBS Mornings_, confirming she’s neither engaged nor married.
Gayle King used her nationwide platform on CBS Mornings on Friday to set the report straight after AI-generated photographs falsely claimed she was newly married and flashing a diamond ring.
“Been getting plenty of texts, plenty of messages, tales on-line that I bought engaged,” King stated through the broadcast. “Check out me with an enormous ring on my finger. There’s a fortunate man — I don’t know who he’s.”
The 70-year-old journalist addressed the viral photos that confirmed her in a marriage robe beside a thriller groom, calling out the rising development of manipulated visuals spreading misinformation.
“These (AI-)generated photos have been making their manner throughout the web. So I’m right here to say completely on CBS Mornings, I’m not married, not even engaged.”

King, who’s at the moment single, admitted the photographs have been so convincing that even her internal circle purchased into the fantasy.
“Folks have been saying, ‘Congratulations,’ ‘Love actually occurred to you,’ ‘I’m so blissful for you,’” she advised co-host Nate Burleson. “That isn’t me. However Nate, even I checked out it and go, ‘Is that me?’”
Studying one of many faux studies on air, King chuckled on the description of her supposed husband, who was described as a “outstanding determine within the enterprise world” with a philanthropic streak and a discreet public presence.
“The place is he? I want to see you, sir! Present your self!” she joked. “Even my children stated, ‘Mother, who is that this?’ Effectively, I don’t know!”
She wrapped up the second by reiterating the reality another time: “I’m not married or engaged… Imagine me, if I used to be, you’d hear it right here first.”
King shares two grownup kids together with her ex-husband, William Bumpus. The pair have been married from 1982 to 1993.
