Gordon Ramsay dives into the pool to train for an upcoming Ironman triathlon, drawing inspiration from his Olympic swimmer son-in-law, Adam Peaty.

Peaty, a three-time Olympic gold medalist in breaststroke, recently married Ramsay’s daughter Holly on December 27. The couple’s strong family ties have captured attention, especially amid Peaty’s strained relations with his own relatives.

Ironman Training Session

Ramsay visited the Toronto Athletic Club pool over the weekend to prepare for the endurance event, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.22-mile marathon run. He shared a topless photo from the session on his Instagram Story.

Demonstrating his commitment, Ramsay posted a video of his branded swim cap for the Ironman race scheduled later this year in Costa Navarino, Peloponnese, Greece. His fitness watch revealed he completed 2,000 meters in 33 minutes.

Striking Wedding Resemblances

Photos from Peaty’s wedding highlight similarities to Ramsay’s own 1996 marriage to Tana. At 30 years old then, Ramsay mirrored Peaty’s current look at 31, with a comparable quiff hairstyle. Peaty wore a traditional tuxedo, while Ramsay chose grey trousers, a matching waistcoat, and striped tie.

Close Father-Son Bond

Ramsay recently shared on Gaby Roslin’s Reasons To Be Joyful podcast how Peaty calls him ‘dad.’ He recounted: ‘He calls me dad. He messaged me and said “Hey dad, what have you got? Hey dad, are you around later?” And it’s just like, “Oh my God”. Incredible. And what a lovely couple. They are a dream for Tana and I.’

During Peaty’s emotional wedding speech, where he vowed to ‘always choose’ his wife, Ramsay offered public support. Commenting under a video, he wrote: ‘Beautiful words @adamramsaypeaty @hollyramsaypeaty True Love ❤️ congratulations love you both so much Dad ❤️.’

Ramsay has also featured Peaty in his new Netflix documentary, underscoring their bond.

Family Feud Continues

Peaty’s aunt, Louise Williams, criticized his decision to call Ramsay ‘dad’ amid the ongoing rift. In November, Peaty excluded his parents, Caroline and Mark, from the wedding. Williams posted on Threads about Mark’s sacrifices as a bricklayer: ‘Oh Adam your poor dad. How could you? That man literally worked his hands bloody in order that you could pursue your dream… He worked long long days as a brickie – a hard laborious back breaking job. He did it without moan or complaint.’
