A 20-year-old man lost his life in a serious car collision in Gwynedd on Saturday evening, with three others sustaining severe injuries.
Incident Details
The accident occurred around 22:10 BST on the A499 near Pwllheli, specifically between Llanaelhaiarn and Y Ffôr. It involved a black Ford Fiesta and a red Audi A3. Emergency responders rushed the three injured individuals to hospital, where they continue to receive treatment.
Authorities closed the road overnight to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash.
Police Statement and Appeal
Sgt Duncan Logan, the lead investigating officer from North Wales Police, extended his deepest condolences to the victim’s family. He stated, “I would like to personally thank all those who stopped to assist at the scene and support emergency services.”
Sgt Logan also issued an urgent appeal: “I am urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been travelling or walking in the vicinity and has mobile or dash-cam footage, to come forward as soon as possible.”
Emergency Medical Response
Responders from the Welsh Ambulance Service transported two patients via air ambulance and one by road ambulance. All three remain under hospital care.
