Harry Styles returns with his fourth album, Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, known to fans as KISSCO, following a three-year break from the spotlight. The record delves into personal reflections on life, identity, and everyday experiences, contrasting with more cryptic styles seen in other artists’ work.
Album Tracks and Inspirations
The album opens with Aperture, the final track Styles completed. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, he describes it as capturing the moment of admitting fault: “Aperture felt like the perfect start because it is so about realizing ‘No, I was in the wrong for something.’ You move forward by acknowledging unknowns and allowing light to enter.”
The full tracklist includes: Aperture, American Girls, Ready, Steady, Go!, Are You Listening Yet?, Taste Back, The Waiting Game, Season 2 Weight Loss, Coming Up Roses, Pop, Dance No More, Paint by Numbers, and Carla’s Song.
Dance No More: Tears on a Berlin Dancefloor
Styles draws from a transformative night in Berlin for Dance No More. Standing in the middle of the dancefloor, he felt “unbelievably free and safe,” arms raised, eyes closed, with tears streaming down his face. “I just felt so alive,” he recalls. He mentions “Fox” in the lyrics as a tribute to producer Kid Harpoon’s son, who earned the nod after hitting a football crossbar during a playful challenge.
This experience echoes his shift to audience perspectives after years as a headliner. On BBC Radio 2, Styles emphasized: “Being on the other side of the audience has been crucial—experiencing live music in a crowd reminds us we’re all there for the same reason.”
Season 2 Weight Loss: Embracing the Moustache
Season 2 Weight Loss serves as a metaphor for personal reinvention. Styles compares it to Netflix stars returning slimmer in a show’s second season: “It’s the mission statement of the record—returning as a stronger version of myself.”
He kept his moustache, grown during tour breaks, defying expectations. “Whenever I had a break, I grew my tash, but shaved it for tour because it wasn’t the expected version. Now, it’s about accepting growth and change,” he explains.
Carla’s Song: A Friend’s Musical Discovery
The closing track Carla’s Song honors a friend named Carla. After she discovered Paul Simon at a gathering, Styles played Bridge Over Troubled Water and Cathy’s Song. “It was like watching someone discover magic in technicolor,” he says. This moment crystallized the album’s purpose: creating timeless songs that resonate forever.
Personal Life and Reflections
Styles embraces a “yes era,” traveling to Italy and Berlin, running marathons incognito, lime biking in London, and dancing at Glastonbury. Running offers escape: “You’re always moving, and by the time people react, you’re gone,” he told Runner’s World.
American Girls reflects loneliness amid friends’ weddings. “There’s magic in finding the right person, but it involves risk,” Styles notes. It prompted self-reflection on marriage and family. His relationship with actress Zoë Kravitz strengthens; they were spotted together in August 2025 and with her father Lenny Kravitz in September.
“I want fulfillment—great relationships, friendships, a family,” he states. “The right person holds you accountable to your best self.”
Are You Listening Yet?, the oldest track, captures tour frenzy: musings of a “mad man” amid New York shows. Paint by Numbers opens with: “Oh what a gift to be noticed, but it’s nothing to do with me.”
Styles underscores artistry: “What makes an artist is letting people watch you be ordinary,” he told Zane Lowe.
