Pop star JADE has joined Lily Allen on a new remix of the track “Beg For Me”, taken from Allen’s critically acclaimed comeback album West End Girl. The former Little Mix member contributed a fresh verse ahead of Allen’s headline performance at this weekend’s Mighty Hoopla festival, delivering lyrics that directly target the song’s unappreciative partner.
“His fragile ego ain’t worth your tears,” JADE sings in the remix. “If we’re being honest, it’s / Better to find out than to find out in a few years / ‘Cause we don’t judge, men need their toys / But no buttplug’s gonna fill the void.”
The new lines echo a moment from Allen’s own track “Pussy Palace”, also featured on West End Girl, where she recounts discovering a stash of sex toys and condoms at her ex’s West Village apartment.
Album rooted in personal experience
Upon its release, West End Girl was widely interpreted as a deeply personal reflection on the marriage and subsequent divorce between Allen and her ex-husband, Stranger Things star David Harbour. The couple first connected in 2019 via the dating app Raya, married in a Las Vegas ceremony in September 2020, and later moved into a Brooklyn townhouse together—alongside Allen’s two daughters from a previous relationship. They separated in early 2025, and the singer filed for divorce later that year.
The album has drawn widespread critical praise and sparked international conversations about marriage, infidelity, and non-monogamy. Critics have hailed it as a “brutal, tell-all masterpiece” and Allen’s strongest work in 16 years, describing it as “an incisive diary of a marriage in freefall.”
Mighty Hoopla lineup
Allen is set to headline the Saturday slot at Mighty Hoopla this weekend. The festival’s lineup also includes Jessie J, Appleton, JLS, Scissor Sisters, pop band Five, and JADE’s former Little Mix bandmate Perrie.
