The experience has left her with what she describes as “a bit of PTSD,” making her hesitant to embark on another pregnancy despite a desire for Presley to have a sibling.

Presley, who is now four years old, was diagnosed with a congenital condition known as bicuspid aortic valve. This condition, affecting approximately one percent of the population, means the heart valve has only two leaflets instead of the typical three. Wright first disclosed Presley’s diagnosis in August 2024, explaining the medical details to her social media followers.

The journey through Presley’s health issues has been arduous. Wright recounted on her podcast, “Wright At Home with her mum Carol,” that the family has been “in the trenches” for the past four years navigating his health challenges. She admitted that the ongoing health concerns, particularly his heart condition, have contributed to her current anxiety and reluctance to have another baby.

Emotional Impact and PTSD Concerns

Wright candidly discussed the psychological impact of Presley’s diagnosis and subsequent health monitoring. She revealed that the experience has led to symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The constant worry and the emotional strain of frequent medical check-ups have left a significant mark.

She recalled an incident during her participation in “Cooking With The Stars” the previous year. While staying in a hotel during the week of filming, Wright experienced a severe emotional breakdown. She described being “in hysterics” over Presley’s heart condition, a reaction she now understands stemmed from pent-up anxiety related to recent heart check-ups. At the time, she felt embarrassed, believing her fellow celebrities must have perceived her as unstable.

“I was so embarrassed of myself when I went on Cooking With The Stars last year,” Wright explained. “I stayed in the hotel one night through the week to break it up because it was a whole full week of filming. I was a complete wreck that night when, with this bunch of celebrities that I’d only met that week, I was in hysterics about his heart condition.” She elaborated that the emotional release, though distressing at the moment, was a manifestation of the stress she had been enduring.

Positive Health Update for Presley

Despite the emotional challenges, there have been significant positive developments regarding Presley’s health. In April, Wright shared that her son was “defying all the odds” as doctors noted a rare improvement in his bicuspid aortic valve condition. This news came after two years of intensive monitoring and anxious waiting.

During a podcast episode, Wright tearfully revealed the doctor’s findings. “The other day the doctor said that actually his has reduced which is really, really rare, it doesn’t happen often,” she stated. “He’s doing really, really well.” This unexpected improvement brought immense relief to the family.

The emotional strain of the “agonising wait” between check-ups, never knowing whether the news would be good or bad, has been substantial. “You hold it together for these checks and then you kind of hold it together after because you get good news,” Wright said. “To be in that kind of agonising wait not knowing if it’s going to be a good result or the worst news, every four months is just not easy.”

Her mother, Carol, stepped in to offer reassurance, confirming the positive outcome of the recent medical assessment. “It went really well, and they got good news that it’s improved,” Carol shared. “He’s going to be ok he’s such a strong boy.” Another family member, Natalya, added, “Couldn’t have asked for better news really.”

Lingering Uncertainty and Future Hopes

Even with the encouraging health update, the family remains cautiously optimistic. Wright acknowledged that while Presley is currently doing well and remains highly active and energetic, the long-term prognosis still carries an element of uncertainty. The condition’s current stability is a relief, but they are aware that it is close to a level that might necessitate surgical intervention.

“We just have to hope and pray that his heart sustains where it is at the moment because at the moment it’s ok. It’s just that we’re close to the level of where it will need operating on,” Wright explained. She reiterated her son’s resilience, noting, “Defying all the odds, he’s got that but he’s still completely active and really, really energetic.”
