Jurgen Klopp arrives back in the UK, touching down on Thursday afternoon ahead of his return to Anfield’s home dugout. He gears up for Saturday’s Liverpool Legends versus Borussia Dortmund Legends match, a charity game supporting the LFC Foundation that starts at 3 p.m.

Playful Arrival Video from Manchester Airport

Upon landing at Manchester Airport, Klopp shares an Instagram video ing excitement. “Hi guys, we are back. From Manchester to Liverpool. My favourite direction actually,” he says. “I’m looking forward to the next three days, with the highlight being the Legends game between Liverpool and Dortmund, my two former clubs.”

Klopp adds, “I can’t wait to see a lot of friends. I can’t wait to meet you all, to be honest. It feels like ages ago, but it wasn’t even a year ago that I was here. I’m so surprised the weather is OK.” He anticipates visits to the AXA training ground and Anfield, along with foundation activities and football.

Star-Studded Legends Lineup

The Liverpool side features icons like Steven Gerrard, Thiago Alcantara, Pepe Reina, and Peter Crouch. Sir Kenny Dalglish leads as manager, with Klopp, Ian Rush, and John Aldridge serving as assistants.

Klopp’s Storied Liverpool Tenure

Klopp steps away from Liverpool’s managerial role in summer 2024 after nearly nine years. During his time, the German secures the Champions League and Premier League titles. He vows never to manage another English club, underscoring his deep connection to the Reds.

Current Role and Coaching Rumors

Since January 2025, Klopp holds the position of global head of soccer at Red Bull. Speculation persists about a coaching comeback, including recent links to Real Madrid after Xabi Alonso’s January departure.

Klopp dismisses the Real Madrid talk as “nonsense.” He states, “If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven’t called him either.”

He reflects, “Right now I’m not thinking about that, luckily there’s no reason to. For my age I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned.”
