Daytime Television Shakeup as Clarkson Steps Away
Multiple Emmy Award-winning host Kelly Clarkson announced Monday her daytime talk show will conclude production in fall 2026 following its seventh season. The television personality shared the decision through a social media statement accompanied by a vibrant pink graphic.
Prioritizing Family After Personal Loss
“Working with exceptional teams in both Los Angeles and New York has been an incredible privilege,” Clarkson stated. “After seven remarkable seasons filled with unforgettable moments, I’ve made the difficult choice to conclude our daily program to focus on my children during this pivotal family chapter.”
The singer referenced recent personal challenges, including the August 2025 passing of her former spouse Brandon Blackstock following a melanoma battle. Clarkson shares two children with Blackstock – River (11) and Remington (9).
Future Projects and Industry Reactions
While confirming the show’s conclusion, Clarkson hinted at ongoing creative pursuits: “This isn’t farewell to entertainment. Fans might encounter me through musical performances, occasional television appearances, or unexpected projects.”
Industry colleagues quickly voiced support through social media responses:
Actress Kerry Washington commented: “Sending love and admiration for your incredible work,” while comedian Fortune Feimster noted: “Honored to have participated in your outstanding program multiple times.”
Program Legacy and Recent Challenges
The daytime series premiered in September 2019, initially filming in Los Angeles before relocating to New York in October 2023. Production faced disruptions during Blackstock’s illness, with several high-profile guest hosts filling in during March 2025 including Simu Liu, Wanda Sykes, and Brooke Shields.
Clarkson previously canceled her Las Vegas residency days before Blackstock’s passing, explaining at the time: “Present circumstances require my complete focus on family priorities.”
The final season will air through 2026, concluding the program’s seven-year television run.
