Liam Gallagher has cheekily addressed Oasis’s position in the ongoing fan vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2026 class, where the band currently lags behind several artists.
Oasis Lags in Fan Vote
Oasis trails artists such as Pink, Sade, and Luther Vandross in the public ballot. As of the latest update, Oasis has received just over 100,000 votes, while Phil Collins leads with more than 300,000.
Gallagher took to X to thank supporters—and non-supporters alike. He wrote: “I’d like to thank all the people who HAVEN’T voted for us from the bottom of my HEART this is for you thanks.”

He followed up with a message to voters: “And to all the people who voted for us, SIT DOWN.”

History of Rock Hall Criticism
This marks another instance of Gallagher dismissing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Last year, following Oasis’s nomination alongside acts like Cyndi Lauper, Mariah Carey, and The White Stripes, he labeled the institution “for WANKERS” on X.
When asked what he would do if Oasis won, Gallagher replied: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.”
In 2024, after another nomination, he posted: “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG.” He advised fans against voting, calling it a “waste your time” and “all a load of bollox.”
Gallagher later elaborated to The Sunday Times: “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and fuck off. It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of bollocks.”
He contrasted this with his receipt of the 2018 Godlike Genius Award, responding to a fan: “I mean cmon you can’t be turning things like that down.”
Oasis Reunion and Recent Developments
Gallagher’s comments follow Noel Gallagher’s recent BRIT Award for Songwriter of the Year. During his acceptance, Noel thanked his brother, Bonehead, Guigsy, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem, and Andy: “I’ve gotta thank my brother, and Bonehead, Guigsy, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem and Andy – they brought those songs to life. Without them, I’d just be a singer-songwriter, and no-one gives a shit about singer-songwriters.”
Backstage, Noel described the upcoming documentary on Oasis’s record-breaking reunion tour as “astonishing” for fans. Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight producing, the film grants access to the brothers’ pre-tour meetings and rehearsals, offering insights into resolving their long-standing feud.
Noel recently shared that he has returned to the studio, though details on the project remain unclear.
