Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg, 54, arrived in Sydney this week on a private jet, presenting a notably subdued appearance ahead of filming the Netflix movie The Big Fix.
Low-Key Arrival and Outfit Change
Wahlberg stepped off the plane sporting a thick dark brown goatee, likely for his role. He ditched his ’90s Marky Mark style—baggy jeans and exposed Calvin Klein waistbands—for a crisp white polo shirt with a honeycomb texture, buttoned to the collar. A navy blue suede bomber jacket protected him from the weather, paired with light blue jeans belted at the waist and $2,015 blue suede Zegna sneakers. A plain white baseball cap completed the ensemble.
The Boogie Nights and The Other Guys star handled his own luggage, including two leather bags and a portable sound bar, as he crossed the tarmac.
Fan Interactions and Return to Australia
Clearly enjoying his time back in Australia, Wahlberg chatted amiably with fans and posed for selfies. This marks his third film project Down Under, following the 2024 Amazon thriller Play Dirty in Sydney and the action-comedy Balls Up in Queensland.
Details on The Big Fix
Based on Brett Forrest’s book and inspired by true events, The Big Fix centers on a former Interpol officer inside FIFA who exposes a worldwide match-fixing scheme. Wahlberg stars alongside Riz Ahmed and Chin Han.
Business Connections and Affection for Australia
Wahlberg maintains strong ties to the country through his Wahlburgers chain, with five outlets in New South Wales and Queensland. He also invests in and serves on the board of Australian gym chain F45 Training.
In an April appearance on the Today show with Richard Wilkins, Wahlberg explained his frequent visits: “Paradise.” He added, “The amount of talent that’s come out of Australia both in front of and behind the camera is astonishing.”
Recent Family Moments
Recently, Wahlberg shared a family photo from daughter Grace’s church confirmation. The 16-year-old stood between her father—who wore a grey polo, black trousers, and suede boat shoes—and mother Rhea Durham, with eldest sister Ella Rae, 22, also present.
Days earlier, Durham posted a Palm Sunday image of Wahlberg displaying crosses made from his food. The couple, married since 2009, have four children: Ella Rae, 22; Michael, 20; Grace, 16; and Brendan Joseph, 17.
