Fans of the ITV singing competition believe they have identified Can of Worms just days before the semi-final. In the latest episode of season seven, the character narrowly avoided unmasking, sparking widespread speculation about the celebrity behind the costume.
Episode Highlights and Unmaskings
The show features celebrities performing in elaborate disguises while a panel attempts to guess their identities. Judges Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall joined host Joel Dommett for the January 31 episode. The previous week’s double elimination revealed singer Kate Nash as Monkey Business and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke as Arctic Fox.
Remaining contestants included Can of Worms, Conkers, Moth, Red Panda, Sloth, Toastie, and the newly introduced Mole. Early in the episode, Mole was unmasked as X Factor star Olly Murs. Later, Red Panda turned out to be comedian Harry Hill. Viewers then voted, advancing Toastie, Conkers, Sloth, Moth, and Can of Worms to the semi-final.
Fan Theories Point to Boyband Star
Although Can of Worms survived the elimination round, online discussions suggest the performer is a member of the British boyband JLS. Fans on X shared their guesses, focusing on JB Gill and Marvin Humes.
One viewer posted: “I definitely think Can of Worms is one of the JLS guys. I’m going with JB.” Another agreed: “I still think JB is Can of Worms, he likes gardening and JLS has a song called One Shot.” A third speculated: “Can of Worms.. does sound like Marvin from JLS.” Yet another asked: “Marvin Humes is that you hiding in the Can of Worms???
Judges and audience members alike have named both Gill and Humes as potential matches. The duo gained fame in JLS with bandmates Aston Merrygold and Oritsé Williams. The group’s hits include “Everybody in Love” and “Beat Again.”
