New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini shared an intimate moment at a secluded New York City bar in March 2020, according to newly surfaced photos. The images capture the pair kissing at Tribeca Tavern, six years before recent pictures emerged of them hugging poolside at an adults-only resort in Arizona.
Details of the 2020 Encounter
At the time, Vrabel served as head coach for the Tennessee Titans, while Russini worked as an ESPN insider frequently covering the team. An eyewitness described the scene: “They were kissing and all over each other.” The observer noted that Vrabel wore a ring during the encounter, which occurred as the COVID-19 pandemic began spreading across the United States.
Personal Backgrounds
Russini married Kevin Goldschmidt later that year. Vrabel has been married to Jen since 1999, and the couple has two children.
Recent Photos Spark Controversy
Earlier this month, suggestive images surfaced showing Vrabel and Russini embracing by the pool in Arizona. Both individuals denied any inappropriate behavior, calling the photos misleading. Russini faced an investigation from The Athletic’s parent company, The New York Times, leading to her placement on leave before she resigned last week.
Vrabel Takes Accountability at Press Conference
Vrabel initially dismissed the Arizona photos as “laughable.” During Tuesday’s press conference as the Patriots launched their offseason program, he addressed the situation emotionally: “I’ve had some difficult conversations with people I care about—with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive. We believe that in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me. That starts with me.”
He avoided direct questions about the allegations, his earlier denial, or Russini’s departure from her role.
Counseling Absence During NFL Draft
The Patriots announced Vrabel will miss Saturday, the third day of the NFL Draft, to attend counseling sessions. This timing draws attention, as the team holds eight of its 11 picks on that final day.
