StudioCanal UK continues to expand the beloved Paddington franchise with two new films and a TV series in development.

Since 2014, the live-action animated Paddington films have captivated audiences. Paul King directed the first two installments, featuring Ben Whishaw as the voice of Michael Bond’s iconic Paddington Bear. Paddington 2 stands out as a modern cinematic highlight. The third film, Paddington in Peru, introduced a new director and writer, with Emily Mortimer stepping in as Mrs. Brown, replacing Sally Hawkins. It arrived in theaters two years ago.
New Projects Revealed at CinemaCon
At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh confirmed that Paddington 4 is underway. A team of comedy writers is crafting the script, though details on the team remain undisclosed.
In addition, a separate animated Paddington film is in production. This complements a previously announced Paddington TV series, broadening the bear’s adventures across formats.
Following the Peruvian escapades in the third film, the next live-action entry likely brings Paddington back to London. Fans anticipate potential returns, such as Hugh Grant reprising his role as the villainous Phoenix Buchanan.
