A former Power Rangers stunt performer has disclosed troubling health developments, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.

Health Announcement Sparks Concern

Adam Richards, known for portraying the Red Ranger through stunts from 1993 to 1997, posted a brief update on Instagram. He stated: “I’m sorry, I will not be on here much for a bit as I have had some bad medical news today.” Since then, he has not provided additional details, heightening worry among followers.

Fans Offer Messages of Strength

Supporters quickly filled the comments with encouragement. One wrote: “My thoughts with you on what must be a tough journey Adam. I hope you are in good hands and know that I will be thinking of you.” Another added: “Hope you can turn whatever this is around.” Additional messages included: “Wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of strength,” and “So sorry Adam. I hope it’s not something really bad. I’ll be thinking of you.”

Richards’ Storied Career in Stunts

Richards performed stunts as the Red Ranger, including numerous live shows and appearances. Actor Austin St. John originated the role of Jason, the Red Ranger, on the original series. Following four years of military service as a paramedic, St. John appeared in films such as Monsters at Large (2018) and A Walk With Grace (2019).

Richards transitioned to major productions like Saving Private Ryan, Gulliver’s Travels, and Band of Brothers. Registered as a stunt performer since 1997, he works across film and stage. His martial arts expertise includes creating the style “Kuen Tao” and earning eight black belts in Kickboxing, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Wushu, Doumg, Jujitsu, Chen Chan, and Kail.

St. John’s Legal Challenges

In 2022, St. John faced arrest related to alleged fraud in a government COVID-19 business relief program. A statement on his Instagram read: “Austin St. John is a father, husband, role model and friend to many. The indictment detailed today is populated by a multitude of individuals – the majority of which Austin has no knowledge of, and has never met or interacted with. It is our understanding that Austin put his faith, reputation, and finances in the hands of third parties whose goals were self-centered and ultimately manipulated and betrayed his trust. We expect Austin’s legal team to successfully defend against these charges and lead to his ultimate exoneration. We ask that you respect the privacy of Austin’s family in light of this serious situation, and thank you for your support.”
