Princess and Junior Andre’s Matching Tattoos Honor Dad Peter Andre

Published on

Princess and Junior Andre have revealed matching tattoos inked with the word ‘unconditional,’ a tribute to their father, Peter Andre. The siblings explained the significant choice behind the tattoo during a recent ITV2 Reality Showcase event, where they also candidly discussed the emotional impact of their mother Katie Price’s recent documentary series.

Tribute to Fatherhood and Family Unity

The matching tattoos, featuring the word ‘unconditional,’ hold deep personal meaning for Princess, 19, and Junior, 21. They shared that the word was inspired by a song their father, Peter Andre, wrote for their older brother, Harvey. Junior explained the significance during the showcase, stating, “The word that we got, our dad basically wrote a song with that word.” He elaborated on the family’s values, emphasizing, “We wanted to get something that is very relatable to us as a family because unity, love and togetherness is really important to us.”

Princess further illuminated the song’s context, recalling lyrics that touch upon the journey of becoming a father. She explained, “The song is about becoming a father before a dad because Harvey’s not his biological son, but he fathered him growing up and it taught him how to be a father.” Harvey’s biological father is former footballer Dwight Yorke, who has had limited involvement in his son’s life. Peter Andre became Harvey’s stepfather upon marrying Katie Price and has been a consistent paternal figure.

Navigating Parental Documentaries and Childhood Challenges

The siblings’ appearance at the showcase came after they admitted that their mother Katie Price’s four-part Sky documentary, titled ‘Katie Price: My Life,’ had placed them in an “awkward position.” While they contributed to and appeared in the series, which offered an intimate look at their mother’s life and struggles, Princess and Junior have spoken about the strain it caused.

During an episode of ‘The Princess Diaries,’ a series featuring Katie, the siblings discussed the delicate balance of supporting both parents. “The new documentary put us in an awkward position,” Princess stated. “We love both our parents and want to be there for them.” Junior added that “everything feels better and normal since the truce” between their parents, referring to Peter Andre and Katie Price ending a long-standing feud.

The documentary also touched upon the challenges the children faced during their mother’s public difficulties in the late 2010s. Following the collapse of her marriage to Kieran Hayler, Katie Price experienced a period of depression and struggled with addiction. At that time, Junior and Princess were young, aged 13 and 10 respectively. They recounted in the documentary how they began to take on responsibilities for themselves and their younger siblings, Jett and Bunny, an experience that brought them to tears.

Family Dynamics and Future Aspirations

The siblings also shared insights into their current family dynamics. In one instance shown in the documentary, they participated in a FaceTime call with their mother while she was in Dubai. Princess expressed her feelings about her mother’s relationships, noting, “I’ve never met him [Katie’s husband Lee Andrews], mum’s love life stories are extreme and I don’t even follow it myself. As long as she is happy then I’m happy.” The call also featured Katie showing the results of recent cosmetic surgery, a moment Princess reacted to with a nonchalant, “Am I shocked? No.”

The family also organized a camping trip for Katie’s birthday, which coincided with her Instagram account being temporarily suspended. Katie expressed her frustration over the suspension, lamenting the constant challenges she faces. “My Instagram was suspended but I’m getting it back, people complain about anything. You know what it is like in my life one thing after the other,” she said.

Reflecting on life lessons, Katie shared advice with her children about maintaining healthy relationships: “I’ve had people hanging on and abuse me and I hope you have learned to keep your circle small.” She also spoke about her enduring desire for recognition, stating, “I want to be worldwide. I’m an exhibitionist and I love it but I also love being at home.”

Sibling Bonds and Career Plans

Princess confirmed that her beauty brand is set to launch in September. She also revealed her strong desire to participate in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ only if she could do so alongside her older brother, Junior. “We would only do it together,” she stated. “I don’t think siblings have ever done it. We can be the first. We are the only jungle babies it is calling us.”

The siblings’ shared experiences, from their matching tattoos honoring their father to their candid discussions about family life, highlight a strong bond and a mature approach to navigating the complexities of their public upbringing. Their commitment to family unity and mutual support remains a central theme as they continue to forge their own paths.
