Football Star’s Romantic Getaway Revealed
Australian football captain Sam Kerr and her wife Kristie Mewis recently enjoyed an exclusive honeymoon retreat at a prestigious Oxfordshire estate, following their New Year’s Eve wedding in Australia. The couple reportedly spent several nights at Estelle Manor in the Cotswolds region, where premium accommodations can reach approximately $2,400 per night.

The newlyweds traveled approximately 90 minutes from London with their infant son Jagger to experience the manor’s extensive amenities. “They have different restaurants on site, they have everything that you would ever want to relax there,” Mewis shared during a recent podcast appearance.
The former professional footballer described their leisurely routine: “We sat at breakfast from like seven (am) to 11… It was just one of those things where you just kept ordering coffees and kept ordering things. We felt like we just sat and ate the whole time.”
Asian Cup Preparations Underway
While enjoying this romantic interlude, Kerr remains focused on her upcoming professional commitments. The Matildas striker will soon lead Australia’s national team in their Asian Cup campaign, which begins with group stage matches against the Philippines (March 1, Perth), Iran (March 5, Gold Coast), and South Korea (March 8, Sydney).
Championship Ambitions
Kerr, who first won the tournament as a teenager in 2010, reflected on the challenge ahead: “Sixteen years ago seems crazy. It feels like yesterday. I think it shows how hard it is to win the Asian Cup and the importance of the tournament.”
The star forward expressed confidence in new head coach Joe Montemurro’s leadership: “He wants to play a certain style of football, which has been really clear. When you have a clear identity as a team, it is easy to get everyone to focus. He’s been really good for the group off the pitch too.”
