Influencer Tammy Hembrow, 31, developed an unexpected connection with shark attack survivor Paul de Gelder while filming the upcoming Channel Nine series Shark! in the Bahamas. The show, set to premiere later this year, challenges Australian celebrities to confront their fear of sharks.

The Cast and Hosts

Tammy stars alongside The Block host Scott Cam, NRL star Sam Thaiday, former NRL player and actor Matt Nable, Home & Away veteran Lynne McGranger, and Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus. Paul, 47, a former Navy clearance diver who lost his right hand and leg in a 2009 bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour, co-hosts with shark conservationist Annie Guttridge.

On-Set Chemistry Ignites

Filming took place in late November and early December 2025. Insiders report a lively atmosphere on set, reminiscent of a reality dating show. Sparks flew between Tammy and Paul during downtime, drawing attention from cast and crew.

“People definitely noticed the chemistry,” one source reveals. “There was a lot of laughter, a lot of flirting… it wasn’t exactly subtle.”

Jemma’s sister, Amelia Hammett, expressed concern. “I only care about my baby sister in this whole ordeal, as most people would,” she says. “Personally, I think that for this to be so publicised is embarrassing.
