Trinny Woodall, the 62-year-old founder of a £200 million beauty empire, pledges to stay vibrant and visible as she ages. She focuses intensely on health and wellness to maintain her energy levels.
Challenging Aging Norms
Woodall dismisses the notion of ‘aging gracefully,’ asserting that no rigid rules should dictate how people grow older. Energy, she explains, determines visibility: “When women are tired, we disappear. When we’re full of energy, people notice us.”
Her drive stems from family health history. With her mother having suffered from Alzheimer’s and osteoporosis, Woodall commits to remaining physically capable. “I want to be able-bodied, rather than incapacitated, so I’m doing everything I can to stay well,” she states.
Endless Ambition Amid Success
Despite her thriving business, Trinny London, Woodall admits to perpetual dissatisfaction. “I’m never happy. I’m not unhappy, because it’s important to acknowledge how far we’ve come,” she reveals.
Quick Workout for Vitality
Woodall recently showcased her toned abs in a social media video detailing a 10-minute routine. Dressed in a sports bra and leggings, she demonstrates exercises on a vibrating plate while holding weights.
“I haven’t done exercise for a week. And it makes me think, you know, I just want to keep the energy that I get from exercise,” she says. The plate benefits lymph flow and bone density, crucial given her family history. She adds calf raises for ankle strength and balance, combined with arm lifts: “Look at something in front of you because it can be quite difficult on the balance.”
She credits the vibrating plate for daily regularity and nurtures her body holistically. “I’ve learned how important it is to love yourself… Your relationship with your body [should be] strong. [You need to] look after it and give it strength, both mentally and physically, so it will look after you.”
