Host Ranvir Singh delivered a somber announcement just minutes into Friday’s Good Morning Britain broadcast, revealing the identities of all eight victims from two fatal shootings in the Canadian Rockies community of Tumbler Ridge earlier this week.

School Shooting Victims Named

At Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, authorities identified a 39-year-old female teacher along with three 12-year-old female students and two male students, aged 12 and 13. The victims include Kylie Smith, Abel Mwansa, Zoey Benoit, Shannda Aviugana-Durand, Ticaria Lampert, Ezekiel Schofield, Jennifer Jacobs, and Emmett Jacobs.

Home Shooting Details

Separately, at a nearby residence, the shooter’s mother and step-brother were found dead. The 18-year-old suspect, Jesse Van Rootselaar, shared the home with them.

Two children sustained severe injuries during the attacks. Officials continue to investigate the incidents.
