After more than three decades in operation, Millennium Dough Company has closed its doors. This West London-based business specialized in producing wholesale artisan frozen pizza dough. Known for its commitment to high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods, the company focused on long fermentation and craft flours to meet the specific needs of restaurants and food service clients. Previously operating as Millennium Food Service, the company had garnered numerous positive customer reviews, with many praising its staff.
European Cargo Ltd Collapses, Job Losses Mount
European Cargo Ltd, a UK cargo airline, has entered administration, resulting in the termination of employment for 178 staff members. The company has ceased all trading activities following the appointment of administrators on June 3. The airline, which operated freight flights from Bournemouth Airport and had recently initiated services from Teesside Airport, cited a decline in flying activity and escalating fuel costs as primary reasons for its financial collapse. This development comes just months after the company had announced plans to establish a new base at Teesside Airport Business Park.
Barretts of Woodbridge Closes After 57 Years
Following 57 years of service, the well-known furniture company Barretts of Woodbridge has been forced to enter administration. The Suffolk-based retailer closed its store on May 7, preceded by a significant stock-clearance sale offering discounts of 30% or more on all items. The company has confirmed that all outstanding customer orders will be fulfilled and delivered despite the store’s closure.
Capricorn Automotive Limited Enters Administration
The UK division of an international engineering company with a history spanning over 90 years, Capricorn Automotive Limited, has also fallen into administration. Appointed at the end of May, administrators are now overseeing the British arm of the German technology group Capricorn. The company, based at the Lutyens Industrial Centre in Basingstoke, was responsible for manufacturing engineering components for a diverse range of industries and represented the group’s sole operation in the UK. Company records indicate the UK branch was incorporated in February 1992.
Banbury Therapy Group Transitions to Administration
After 17 years of providing services, the Banbury Therapy Group has entered administration, with indications that it may transition to a not-for-profit model. The counselling and counselling training service appointed administrators last week. Crucially, the administration is not expected to affect customers or employment within the organization. This group has been recognized for its provision of psychotherapy, mental health support, and counselling services to the Banbury and North Oxfordshire community since 2009. The organization operates from refurbished, soundproofed therapy rooms in the center of Banbury.
