Authorities are issuing an urgent appeal to residents in Horsham, Victoria, to meticulously search their backyards, sheds, and any outdoor structures for Neville Nicholson, a 47-year-old man who has been reported missing. There is concern that he may be seeking shelter.

Disappearance and Last Known Movements

Mr. Nicholson was last seen departing his family residence on Puls Place, Horsham, around 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17. Newly released security camera footage shows him walking along Dimboola Road approximately one hour later, at 5:00 PM on the same day.

His family and law enforcement are increasingly worried due to a pre-existing medical condition. Victoria Police issued a statement emphasizing the critical need for community assistance: “Investigators are urging local residents to search their backyards, sheds and any outbuildings where he may be taking shelter.”

On Sunday, Horsham Police intensified their appeal for information regarding Mr. Nicholson’s disappearance. Investigators located his backpack situated near the railway line on Dimboola Road, the same location where he was last captured on CCTV. His mobile phone was discovered within the backpack.

Aiden Nicholson, Mr. Nicholson’s son, described his father as a “homebody” whose absence is highly uncharacteristic. “I love him, we all love him very much, he’s a great dad,” Aiden Nicholson stated. “He’s a bit more of a house person. He doesn’t have a bunch of friends, he doesn’t go out too often. He likes spending time at home talking with the family and playing video games and watching stuff with us, which makes it very challenging to think of where he may have gone. We’re all just very concerned and just hoping that he’s safe. He doesn’t just pop up and leave without telling us where he’s going… which has made us very worried.”

He further implored the public: “I just hope and pray that anyone who has any sort of evidence or any sort of information at all, no matter how minor, just please reach out to the police station and please just let them know anything at all.”
