Nottingham Forest appoints Vitor Pereira as its fourth permanent manager this season, marking a Premier League record. The 57-year-old Portuguese coach signs an 18-month deal to replace Sean Dyche and guide the club away from relegation.
Relegation Battle Ahead
Forest sits three points above the Premier League’s bottom three. The team faces Liverpool at home on February 22 in its next league match. Pereira’s immediate challenge includes a Europa League clash against former club Fenerbahce on Thursday. A victory over two legs advances Forest to the last 16.
Recent Wolves Tenure
Pereira led Wolves to comfortable Premier League survival last season. This term, however, results crumbled with eight losses in the first 10 games and just two points, leading to his November dismissal.
Extensive Coaching Career
This role marks Pereira’s 15th club across eight countries. He secured back-to-back league titles with Porto in Portugal, won the domestic double with Olympiacos in Greece in 2015 under owner Evangelos Marinakis, and has coached in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, China, Brazil, and England.
Coaching Staff Joins
Pereira arrives with key assistants: Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida and Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva as assistant coaches, Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura as head of physical performance and opposition analysis, and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes as opposition analyst.
