Deontay Wilder returns to the ring on April 4, taking on Derek Chisora in a heavyweight showdown at London’s O2 Arena. This bout tops the card for the inaugural Misfits Pro boxing event, which streams live on DAZN.
Wilder’s Path Back to Victory
Wilder, holding a record of 44-4-1 with 43 knockouts, seeks his second straight win. From 2020 to 2024, he endured a challenging stretch, posting just one victory in five fights after an undefeated start of 42-0-1. He suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Tyson Fury, followed by a knockout triumph over Robert Helenius. Subsequent defeats came against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, before he secured a knockout against Tyrrell Herndon in June.
At 40 years old, Wilder steps back into the United Kingdom for the first time since 2013, when he faced Audley Harrison. Known as “The Bronze Bomber,” he now meets seasoned contender Chisora.
Chisora’s Recent Surge
Chisora enters with a 36-13 record, including 23 knockouts. He rides a three-fight winning streak over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin, rebounding from a 2022 knockout loss to then-WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The 42-year-old Chisora has battled elite heavyweights throughout his career, including Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko.
Event Background
Speculation once swirled around a potential Wilder matchup with Usyk, but the American instead leads Misfits Boxing’s debut professional event. Fans anticipate a high-stakes clash between two battle-tested warriors.
