Auto Salesman Faces Multiple Fraud Charges
A Windsor automotive salesman faces criminal charges after allegedly defrauding 15 customers of approximately $40,000 through various deceptive practices. Authorities reported the suspected fraudulent transactions occurred between January and September 2025.
Details of the Alleged Fraud
Investigators discovered the suspect engaged in multiple fraudulent activities while selling vehicles. Law enforcement officials confirmed some automobiles had their odometers illegally rolled back to display lower mileage. Other transactions involved forged safety inspection certificates, while some buyers reportedly never received vehicles they purchased.
Additional findings suggest certain customers unknowingly bought scrap vehicles that had been falsely advertised as roadworthy. The 32-year-old suspect allegedly misrepresented vehicles’ conditions and histories across multiple sales.
Legal Proceedings Underway
The accused voluntarily surrendered to authorities last week and now faces serious charges. Recent court documents show he’s been charged with fraud exceeding $5,000 and possession of property obtained through criminal activity valued over $5,000.
Consumer protection advocates warn vehicle buyers to request full documentation histories and independent inspections before completing used car purchases. The investigation remains ongoing as officials examine potential additional victims.
