A devastating fire erupted shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday in a multi-occupant home located in the 300 block of Agnes Street, Winnipeg’s west end.

Emergency Response and Casualties

First responders arrived quickly, evaluating seven individuals at the scene and transporting five to local hospitals for treatment. Tragically, an 18-year-old and a 48-year-old woman later succumbed to their injuries by Sunday. The remaining three victims continue to recover in stable condition.

Ongoing Investigation

Given the fatalities, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the probe to ascertain the fire’s origin. As of Monday, the site has transformed into an impromptu memorial while forensic teams meticulously examine the wreckage for clues.
