Lightning Forces Concert Shortening in Lincoln

Country star Zach Bryan, 30, shortened his Saturday concert in Lincoln, Nebraska, due to dangerous lightning storms. Attendees sheltered in cars during heavy rain before returning to the venue. Fan-generated setlists show seven songs—Bad News, East Side of Sorrow, Motorcycle Drive By, Tourniquet, Heading South, Fifth of May, and Slicked Back—were cut from the performance.

Bryan addressed fans on X, sharing a screenshot of the planned setlist. “I’m sorry for cutting the set short tonight! Lightening came in fast! We only missed the last six! I love you guys, the rain was a blast,” he wrote.

Fan Demands Refunds, Sparks Bryan’s Response

One fan replied to Bryan’s post, demanding partial refunds. “Partial refunds need to be given… I know a lot of this was out of your control but we got half a show. Very disappointing,” the user stated. They later claimed Bryan rushed the remaining songs and noted that opener Kings of Leon did not perform due to delays.

Bryan quoted the complaint, responding with “Karen ahhhh tweet.” He shared a fan photo capturing a vivid lightning bolt over the stage, captioning it: “there were f***n lightning bolts?? Above?? Our?? Heads??.”

Supporters Back Bryan Amid Criticism

Responses largely supported Bryan. One defender noted, “He was literally posting updates all day yesterday. You act like he controls the weather lol.” Bryan’s X feed includes multiple weather updates, such as: “To be clear we’ve never been scared of rain in our life we just gotta avoid the lightening for the safety of everyone.”

Another critic called Bryan’s reply a “scum response,” citing a four-hour wait in the car with “minimal communication.” They claimed spending over $1,000 on tickets. Bryan again quoted the post as “Karen ahhhh tweet,” prompting fans to highlight his proactive updates.

Recent Weather Challenges for Bryan

This incident follows a full cancellation of Bryan’s Tulsa, Oklahoma, show earlier this month due to severe weather—the first such cancellation in his career. “I pissed off plenty [of] people this morning trying to ‘play anyways,'” he posted on Instagram. “If I had ANY say in this, things would be different. I apologize and I love all of ya. I’ve never canceled a show in my life but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter.”
