Canada Border Services Agency officers intercepted 1,010 kilograms of illicit drugs from three commercial trucks attempting to cross the Canada-U.S. border at Coutts, Alberta. The seizures included substantial amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, suspected heroin, and doda from opium poppies.
Details of the Seizures
On November 26, 2025, officers searched a truck loaded with electrolyte beverages bound for Calgary. A detector dog alerted to 461 kilograms of suspected heroin and one gram of opium hidden inside.
The second incident occurred on December 2, 2025, involving a truck with an empty trailer. Inspectors discovered 300 kilograms of cocaine and 400 grams of suspected doda in the cab.
On December 8, 2025, another truck declared as carrying vacuum parts for Calgary yielded 206 kilograms of methamphetamine during a thorough examination.
In each case, authorities arrested the drivers on smuggling charges and transferred them to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Throughout 2025, CBSA officers in Alberta conducted 1,292 drug seizures, confiscating 1,054 kilograms of cocaine and 279 kilograms of methamphetamine.
