Drill Rapper DSAVV Escapes Custody Twice, Taunts Police in Video

Published on

A 21-year-old drill rapper known as DSAVV, whose real name is Daniel Boakye, has escaped police custody twice within a week and released a provocative music video boasting about his breakouts.

Second Escape from Hospital

Boakye fled from University Hospital Lewisham around 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 15. Officers pursued him but could not detain the suspect before he exited the building. He had been in custody for medical treatment at the time.

This marks his second abscondment in recent days. Authorities arrested him last week at an address in Thamesmead following an earlier escape.

Taunting Music Video Surfaces

The evening after his hospital escape, a video surfaced on social media showing a young man believed to be Boakye rapping defiantly. A news article about his prison break played on a TV in the background.

In the track, he raps: “I just broke out of jail like Modie, f*** the government fam they’re phoneys.” He continues, “Prison break, s*** fam – f*** these police. On the roads, I’m a legend like Toby, but I can’t go wrong like Kobe.”

Suspect Description and Police Response

Boakye is described as a Black man of medium height with a slim build. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.

A politan Police spokesperson stated: “We are searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital at around 15:05hrs on Sunday, February 15. Daniel Boakye was in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment when he fled. Officers gave chase but could not detain him before he left the building. We are currently reviewing this incident to fully understand the events which unfolded. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware.”

Criminal Background

Court records indicate Boakye was sentenced to jail in July 2023 for multiple knifepoint robberies across London. Victims faced threats to surrender their phones and passcodes, allowing thieves to drain funds from their accounts.

Police continue their search for Boakye, who remains at large.
