A three-year-old boy from Woolwich has died weeks after hospital admission for serious injuries, prompting murder charges against two individuals.
Details of the Tragedy
Authorities responded to a hospital on Saturday, January 3, following concerns about Isiayah Henry, who arrived with severe injuries. Metropolitan Police officers initiated a safeguarding and criminal probe immediately.
Medical teams provided intensive care, but Isiayah passed away on Monday, January 19. The investigation continues under the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
Charges and Court Appearances
On Friday, February 20, Tanisha Henry, 28, of St Marys Street, Woolwich, and Mikael Williams, 30, of Beaconsfield Road, SE17, faced charges of murder and causing or allowing the death of a child at Woolwich Crown Court.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated: “Enquiries have been ongoing within the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. On Friday, 20 February, two people were charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child in connection with Isiayah’s death following an appearance at Woolwich Crown Court.”
The pair will return to Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, April 22.
