The Office of the First Lady highlights this as the first instance in history where a U.S. First Lady hosts representatives from 45 countries at the White House in a single day. This event marks an unprecedented step in action-oriented diplomacy focused on children’s well-being.
Participating Nations and Tech Giants
Coalition members include France, Poland, Panama, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Nigeria, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Aruba, Morocco, Kenya, and Israel. Technology leaders such as OpenAI, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Palantir, Adobe, Google, and Zoom also join the discussions.
Coalition Launch and Mission
Melania Trump announced the coalition in September during events on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly. Queen Rania of Jordan and Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska attended the New York City reception.
“I’m establishing Fostering the Future Together, a global coalition of nations committed to the well-being of children through the promotion of education, innovation, and technology,” Melania Trump stated at the launch. “The mission ensures every child flourishes in the digital era.”
The coalition unites first spouses worldwide and expands on her Be Best initiative, launched in 2018.
Collaborations and Vision
In her documentary Melania, she discussed plans with France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron to form the coalition alongside like-minded leaders. “When we do, I hope you will join me,” Melania Trump said. Macron responded, “With pleasure. I go everywhere with you. No problem. Because we are connected on many subjects.”
Melania Trump emphasizes advancing the First Lady role to shape the nation’s legacy. “Being First Lady is a unique and impactful role,” she noted. “It provides an opportunity to influence positively while staying true to core values.”
