Tiger Woods Mugshot Revealed After Bail in Florida DUI Crash

Published on

Tiger Woods received bail after DUI charges stemming from a high-speed crash on Jupiter Island, Florida. Authorities released his mugshot following the incident on Friday.

Crash Details

The 15-time Major champion drove his Land Rover at high speeds on a narrow two-lane road, lacking a shoulder. While attempting to overtake a pick-up truck towing a trailer, the vehicle swerved, clipped the trailer’s pressure cleaner apparatus, and rolled onto the driver’s door.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek described the scene: “This is a small two-lane road and there was no shoulder for this gentleman to get off but as he tried [to pull in] the Land Rover overtook, swerved to avoid a collision, and clipped the backend of the pressure cleaner apparatus [on the trailer], and [the car] rolled on the driver’s door.”

Woods emerged unharmed through the passenger door but appeared lethargic and showed signs of impairment, according to the sheriff.

Investigation and Tests

Investigators conducted roadside tests, including a breathalyzer that registered triple zeros. Woods refused a requested urine analysis, a misdemeanor violation under state law.

Sheriff Budensiek noted: “The DUI investigators came to the scene and Mr Woods did exemplify signs of impairment. They did several tests on him. He did explain the injuries and surgeries that he’s had and we did take that into account, but they did some in-depth roadside tests.”

Officials ruled out alcohol involvement. Woods faced arrest, spent eight hours in Martin County jail, and gained release early Saturday morning on bond. Additional charges include property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

The sheriff added: “Mr Woods did a breathalyser test with triple zeros, but when it came time for us to ask for a urinary analysis test, he refused and so he has been charged with DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.”

Past Incidents

This marks Woods’ fourth car-related mishap. In 2009, he struck a fire hydrant and tree with his SUV, receiving a careless driving citation and $164 fine.

In 2017, police found him asleep at the wheel roadside. Arrested for DUI, he attributed it to prescription medication reaction, later pleading guilty to reckless driving and entering rehab.

February 2021 saw Woods crash at 80 mph—nearly double the limit—in Rancho Palos Verdes near Los Angeles, sustaining severe leg injuries requiring multiple surgeries. Investigators deemed it accidental with no impairment.
