Kristin Cavallari’s ‘In Love’ Podcast Remark to Travis Kelce Resurfaces

Published on

A resurfaced clip from Kristin Cavallari’s podcast, where she expressed being “in love” with Travis Kelce, has gained significant attention online. The interview, recorded in September 2023, occurred shortly before Kelce’s relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift became public knowledge. The podcast episode, featuring Kelce as a guest on Cavallari’s show “Let’s Be Honest,” has gone viral amid recent news surrounding both celebrities.

Podcast Clip Sparks Online Buzz

The viral clip features Cavallari telling Kelce that she had a “TV crush” on him and was “in love” with him during the run of his dating reality show, “Catching Kelce,” which aired on E! in 2016. She recounted her immediate attraction, stating, “I was in love with you. How long does it take for you to know if you’re gonna like someone or not? Because I feel like I know immediately.”

Kelce, in the podcast, discussed his approach to relationships, suggesting that commitment requires time and getting to know someone thoroughly. He explained, “To really dive into a relationship with somebody, I feel like it’s gonna take at least… I don’t know, it’s gonna take some time. You really got to know somebody to take that step and really like be committed and be in full throttle.” He added that he couldn’t “just like meet somebody and just automatically think that.”

Cavallari also inquired about the role of initial chemistry and spark in a relationship, asking Kelce if he believed that initial spark could grow over time. Kelce responded affirmatively, noting that while the initial spark is exciting, getting to know someone’s daily habits and tendencies can foster deeper connection. “As you get to know somebody or you see their tendencies and what they do on daily basis, I think all of that can grow 100%,” he stated.

Cavallari’s Recent Financial Revelations

In parallel, Kristin Cavallari has recently been in the news regarding her divorce settlement with former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler. Cavallari reiterated her claims that she did not receive any financial settlement from her ex-husband. Speaking on the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast, she detailed that she was required to pay Cutler half the value of her business, Uncommon James, in cash and properties.

Cavallari, who founded the jewelry and lifestyle brand herself, emphasized that its success provided her with the confidence to leave her marriage. Despite the significant financial payout she made, the former “Laguna Beach” star expressed gratitude for the outcome, viewing it as a catalyst for personal growth and strength. “I was really p…ed at the time and now I’m so thankful because I think, for me, I’ve needed these things in my life to keep going,” she explained. “And I’ve found that that is an instance where I’m going to fight harder… those little moments push me and I come out the other side stronger.”
The 39-year-old reality television personality and entrepreneur stated that she has no regrets about the divorce settlement, seeing it as a necessary step for her personal development.

Jay Cutler Disputes Cavallari’s Account

Jay Cutler has previously contested Cavallari’s narrative regarding their divorce settlement. In an August 2023 appearance on his “Take it Outside” podcast, Cutler dismissed her claims as “completely false.” He argued that it would be illogical for a judge to approve a settlement where one party receives nothing, especially given his NFL earnings, which are publicly accessible.

Cutler explained the legal process, stating, “There’s not a judge in the state of Tennessee that would’ve signed that. They would be like: ‘No, this isn’t right. This isn’t legal.’ So, there’s that.” He implied that the division of assets would have been subject to standard legal procedures in Tennessee.

Cavallari and Cutler, who were married for nearly seven years, announced their separation in April 2020. Cutler faced legal issues in Tennessee, including an arrest and a four-day prison sentence in October 2024 related to a DUI charge, as part of a plea agreement.

Kelce and Swift’s Relationship Timeline

The resurfaced podcast clip from September 2023 places Cavallari’s comments in context with the burgeoning relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Swift first publicly appeared at a Kansas City Chiefs game in October 2023, shortly after Kelce’s podcast interview, marking the beginning of their highly publicized romance. The couple recently celebrated their wedding, reportedly with over 1,000 guests, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
