Man Arrested After Car Theft, Crash Sparks School Lockdown Near Brisbane

A 31-year-old man faces arrest north of Brisbane after allegedly stealing a vehicle from Morayfield early this morning and triggering a major traffic collision.

Details of the Crash

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Victoria Lane and Archer Street in Woodford around 6:10 a.m. The incident left a 60-year-old woman from Caboolture South, driving the other car, in life-threatening condition after paramedics assessed her at the scene.

Suspect Flees, School Lockdown Ensues

The driver of the stolen car, identified as the suspect, escaped on foot immediately after the crash. Authorities located and detained him at about 8:30 a.m. on the grounds of a nearby school, which activated lockdown protocols as a precaution.

Investigations continue into the theft and collision, with police emphasizing road safety in the area.
