Man Arrested in Connection with Stalking Allegations Against WNBA Star
An arrest has been made in Indianapolis concerning allegations of stalking against Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham. The 48-year-old suspect, identified as Kevin Singh, was apprehended on Tuesday and is slated for his initial court appearance on Thursday.
Charges Filed Amid Escalating Behavior
Singh faces serious charges, including felony stalking, felony intimidation, and misdemeanor harassment. Prosecutors detailed that Singh allegedly delivered a package to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, addressed to ‘Sophie.’ Inside, authorities discovered a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt doused in men’s cologne, accompanied by a letter. This incident was reportedly followed by a pattern of persistent and explicit social media messages directed at Cunningham.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Singh’s conduct escalated significantly in February. Despite receiving a cease-and-desist letter, prosecutors state his behavior became increasingly threatening, ultimately leading to him being banned from the arena.
Alleged Social Media Threats and Lawsuit
In communications over social media, Singh is quoted as having written to Cunningham, “The organization literally threatened me with JAIL. Over what?? Because you can’t stop looking at what I post?? Do you have ANY f***ing clue what that threat feels like? I can’t go there for ANY reason. Any concert, comedy show . . . bc if you, & your F***ed UP mental health.”
Following his ban from the venue, Singh reportedly filed a lawsuit against the Fever’s parent company, Pacers Sports & Entertainment. The lawsuit claims he experienced “financial losses, embarrassment, emotional distress, and loss of use of purchased event access” as a direct result of being prohibited from the arena.
Victim’s Fear and Prior Criminal History
Initially, Cunningham reportedly dismissed the alleged harassment. However, her fear grew, leading her to take greater precautions. Court documents indicate that Cunningham has been spending more time at home and experiencing nightmares. She has reportedly expressed feeling constantly on edge, unsafe, and fearful of Kevin Singh.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears highlighted that Singh’s prior criminal history adds gravity to the current case. Records indicate Singh is currently on probation in Hendricks County, Indiana, after pleading guilty to two counts of invasion of privacy. In that previous case, prosecutors had dismissed a stalking charge along with four other felony counts.
A Pattern of Harassment in the League
This situation is not isolated within the Indiana Fever organization. In July of 2025, a man named Michael Lewis was convicted of stalking Caitlin Clark and received a 2.5-year prison sentence.
Prosecutor Mears emphasized the seriousness of online threats. “The internet has made it easier than ever to target, harass and intimidate others. Threats of violence, whether face-to-face or behind a keyboard, will be taken seriously,” Mears stated. “Coming forward is never easy, regardless of a person’s position or public profile. The victim is setting an example by speaking out. No one should have to endure harassment, intimidation or threats of violence, and every person deserves to feel safe in their workplace and throughout our community.”
