Model Lauren Jaine, the girlfriend of Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin, has shared the distressing details of an accident that left her with second-degree burns. The incident occurred on a flight when a hot chocolate was spilled across her stomach and legs.

Jaine documented her recovery process and the accident itself in a series of videos posted to TikTok over the weekend. While re-bandaging her injuries, she explained the sequence of events that led to the painful burns. The couple was returning from a holiday in Italy when the accident happened.

According to Jaine, she had ordered a hot chocolate on the flight. She initially joked that Kuzmin might have nudged her, but later clarified that she wasn’t entirely sure how the spill occurred. The hot liquid covered a significant portion of her stomach and legs, causing immediate and severe discomfort.

“I am gonna do a story time about how I got second degree burns all over my stomach and my legs while I redo my bandages. So if you don’t like gruesome things, don’t watch,” she informed her followers, setting a warning for the graphic nature of the content.

She elaborated, “Yeah, so I got my hot chocolate and I don’t really know what happened but I think Nikita nudged me.” However, Kuzmin playfully interjected in the video, disputing this account. “No, okay, I’m not doing this with you. She literally always put hot chocolate on herself. She is a little bit clumsy, and you put stuff all over yourself all the time,” he remarked.

Jaine conceded, “I poured the hot chocolate all over my stomach,” as she showed the extent of her injuries to the camera. She described the immediate aftermath: “And then I had to run to the bathroom whilst I was burning and I don’t think you really knew what was going on.”

Emergency Response and Recovery Concerns

The cabin crew on the flight responded swiftly, providing Jaine with ice and burn creams to alleviate the pain and begin treatment. Upon landing, the situation required further medical attention, with paramedics boarding the aircraft to assess her condition.

Jaine recounted the landing experience, noting, “And the air hostesses were giving me ice and burn creams and everything, and then when we landed, the pilot made this super embarrassing announcement where he basically said, ‘Everyone, stay on the plane. The paramedics coming,’ which is super embarrassing.”

As she meticulously changed her dressings, applying antiseptic cream and wound gauze, Jaine expressed her significant concern about potential scarring. She appealed to her followers for advice on managing and minimizing the appearance of scars resulting from the scald.

“If anyone has had a scald before, please let me know what you did to like help scarring because I’m so worried I’m gonna have a massive scar here, which is not ideal. So if anyone has any tips or like lotions or special things I can put on this to help it heal the best, that would be amazing,” she pleaded.
