A Sydney dentist has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting three young women who applied for jobs at his Rockdale practice. Maged Fouad Farag, 61, subjected the applicants to disturbing ‘training’ sessions that involved intimate examinations and photography, while also requiring them to sign confidentiality agreements with penalties of $500,000 or more for disclosure. The full extent of his offending has come to light following his guilty pleas to five counts of aggravated sexual touching and one of intentionally recording intimate images without consent.

Details of the ‘Training’ and Confidentiality Agreements

Farag operated Brite Smiles Dental Care in Rockdale, a practice he ran with his wife, Neven, who managed administrative duties. The couple maintained a seemingly affluent lifestyle, owning luxury vehicles and a waterfront home valued at $4 million. However, this facade began to unravel in September 2024 when a woman on a student visa reported Farag to the police.

This initial complaint led to two other women coming forward with similar allegations. According to an 11-page statement of facts obtained, Farag’s abuse spanned over five years. Central to his method was a stringent confidentiality agreement that victims were compelled to sign before undergoing the exploitative ‘training’. This document stipulated that any breach, including filing a complaint, could result in a penalty of ‘$500,000 or higher’. The agreements also explicitly stated that signatories consented to ‘unrestricted physical contact during the training sessions’ and acknowledged ‘the importance of maintaining confidentiality’.

Victim Accounts of Abuse

One victim, referred to as ‘CD’, had applied for a cleaner position but was instead offered training for a new cosmetic procedures business Farag claimed to be establishing. During these sessions, Farag instructed CD to undress for ‘skin checks’, photographed her naked, and engaged in inappropriate physical contact, including fondling her breasts and touching her genital area. He even claimed that touching the vaginal area was important for pressure points to relieve pain.

Another complainant, ‘EF’, who was studying dental technology, applied for a dental assistant role. Farag later proposed she train as an assistant in a potential physiotherapy practice he intended to open. This training also involved ‘skin checks’ requiring her to remove all clothing. During one such session, while EF was naked, Farag, wearing latex gloves, performed a ‘skin check’ with a dental lamp, lifting her arms and legs, and exposing her inner thighs. He later proceeded to massage her, including her inner thigh, and touched her genitals
