Trump Unveils Giant Gold Eagle Statue in Oval Office

Published on

President Donald Trump continues to enhance the Oval Office with lavish golden accents, introducing a massive gold eagle statue prominently positioned behind the Resolute Desk.

New Golden Eagle Takes Center Stage

On Friday morning, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino posted a video showcasing the Oval Office. Set to the tune of ‘Fly Like an Eagle’ by the Steve Miller Band, the footage pans across a coffee table bearing the presidential seal, a model of the redesigned Air Force One, and the historic Resolute Desk before zooming in on the striking new eagle statue. The sculpture, visible over the president’s shoulder when seated, clutches a gilded replica of the U.S. Constitution, with ‘We the People’ faintly visible. Scavino captioned the post ‘good morning’ alongside emojis of the American flag, an eagle, and a rocket.

Ongoing Golden Transformations

Since returning to the White House in January 2025, the president, drawing from his real estate background, has adorned the Oval Office with extensive gold ornamentation. Critics once speculated these elements came from a home improvement store, but Trump dismissed the notion during a November tour with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

‘You know the one thing with gold? You can’t imitate gold, real gold. There’s no paint that imitates gold,’ Trump stated. ‘So these aren’t, like, from Home Depot. No, this is not Home Depot stuff. This is not Home Depot.’

Exterior and Future Projects

Beyond the Oval Office interior, Trump has created a ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ outside, featuring gold portraits of past presidents—including an autopen depiction of former President Joe Biden—along with other golden details. Workers currently replace the taupe pavers beneath this walkway with black granite to complement the gold-and-white theme.

Trump’s ambitious ballroom project promises even more opulence, with designs revealing gold chandeliers, trim, chairs, plates, and candlesticks. The initiative faces legal challenges, as a federal judge recently ordered a halt to construction amid a lawsuit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. However, the National Capital Planning Commission, now aligned with Trump’s appointees, approved the project to proceed last week.
