During a recent podcast episode, actor Ryan Thomas caused a moment of confusion by appearing to mistake UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The incident occurred on the latest installment of “At Home With The Thomas Bros,” a podcast hosted by Ryan and his twin brothers, Adam and Scott.
Podcast Mishap Sparks Confusion
The brothers were discussing their preferences for horror films when Ryan, 42, expressed his aversion to true stories adapted into dramas. He seemed to allude to the popular Netflix miniseries “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” In his commentary, Ryan stated, “I just don’t really like horror movies… True horror, a true horror, like, you know, just Keir Starmer, whatever it is, that sort of that.”
His brothers were taken aback by the unexpected mention. Scott quickly interjected, “That’s the Prime Minister.” The trio then attempted to recall the serial killer’s full name, with Adam confidently suggesting it was “Jeffrey Llama.” This exchange highlights a potential disconnect from recent political news, as Keir Starmer had recently resigned from his leadership position.
Background on Jeffrey Dahmer
Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the “Milwaukee Cannibal” or the “Milwaukee Monster,” was an American serial killer and sex offender. Between 1978 and 1991, he was responsible for the murders and dismemberment of 17 men and boys. His first murder occurred in Ohio in 1978.
Adam Thomas Recounts Shop Incident
The podcast also featured a separate anecdote from Adam Thomas, 37, detailing an unusual encounter at his local corner shop. Adam described an incident where the shop owner allegedly attempted to overcharge him by £100.
Adam explained that he was purchasing sweets for his children and paid using his card. Upon reviewing the card machine, he noticed the transaction amount was £100, significantly more than the actual cost. When he questioned the owner, he was reportedly told, “Come on, you don’t need it!” The owner allegedly justified this by saying, “You’ve just come off the jungle man, you don’t need it,” referencing Adam’s recent participation in “I’m A Celebrity: South Africa.”
Adam, though initially surprised, stated he had a friendly rapport with the shop owner. He recounted, “I was just a bit caught off guard.” He mentioned that the owner had previously offered his children free sweets, leading him to believe the owner might have been trying to recoup perceived favors. Adam emphasized, “I like you and everything, but don’t take the p**s out of me.”
Weeks later, Adam revisited the shop, and the owner was reportedly apologetic, claiming he had intended to return the money and had been wanting to do so. The shop owner expressed his remorse for the incident.
