Kylie Jenner turned heads at the 2026 Met Gala with one of her most daring outfits yet. The 28-year-old reality star arrived on the red carpet in New York City wearing a flesh-toned dress that featured prominent fake nipple imprints. The ensemble highlighted her strikingly slim waist and left little to the imagination.
Outfit Breakdown
Jenner paired a skin-colored bodysuit—reminiscent of shapewear styles—with a corset-like cinch at the back. The bodysuit accentuated her cleavage before flowing into a cream satin gown bunched at the hips. Delicate pale pink and lavender beads and embroidery adorned the skirt, adding an elegant contrast to the provocative top.
She amplified the bold look by appearing to bleach her eyebrows, strutting confidently without her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, by her side.
Met Gala 2026: Theme and Dress Code
The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, held on the first Monday in May, drew A-listers under the theme ‘Costume Art’ with a ‘Fashion Is Art’ dress code. Attendees interpreted the human body as a canvas for designers’ creativity.
Co-chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams led the event alongside Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour. This marks Williams’ first time co-chairing, while Kidman previously helmed in 2003 and 2005, and Beyoncé served as honorary chair in 2013.
Exhibition Highlights
The accompanying exhibit pairs historical and contemporary garments in categories like the classical and nude body, aging and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body. It opens in the Met’s new Conde M. Nast Galleries, sponsored by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez as lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs, with additional support from Yves Saint Laurent.
Curator Andrew Bolton explained at a press conference: ‘The title “Costume Art” refers to the history of the costume institute.’ He added that fashion achieves ‘the status of art because of, and not in spite of, its relation to the body.’
Host Committee and Dates
The host committee features co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, plus Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, and others.
‘Costume Art’ runs from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027, following the May 4 gala. The event remains a key fundraiser for the Costume Institute.
Anna Wintour, who has shaped the gala for over 30 years, recently stepped down as American Vogue’s editor-in-chief after 37 years, appointing Chloe Malle as her successor. Last year, fewer stars attended amid the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme focused on Black dandyism.
