Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston has secured a landmark four-year, $6.3 million contract extension, establishing the highest total salary in WNBA history.
The three-time All-Star anchors the roster alongside rookie phenom Caitlin Clark and guard Kelsey Mitchell. Selected first overall in 2023, Boston averages 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, connecting on 54.7% of her field goals.
Contract Breakdown and Strategic Move
Leveraging the league’s updated collective bargaining agreement, Boston accelerates her path to maximum earnings. Her agent, Zack Miller, stated she accepts $1 million for 2026—under the $1.19 million max—to enable the Fever to allocate funds across the roster. She then claims 20% of the salary cap annually through 2029.
“I’m super blessed and grateful for this opportunity to continue my journey with the Fever,” Boston expressed. “God is good! I’m excited for the future ahead for both myself and our team, and I can’t wait to keep building on everything we’ve accomplished. Go Fever!”
Breakout Performance and Playoff Push
Boston tied for sixth in MVP voting last season, securing All-Defensive honors and an All-WNBA Second Team selection. Amid injuries, the Fever advanced to the playoff semifinals before falling to the champion Las Vegas Aces.
“Entering her fourth season, Aliyah ranks among the WNBA’s top talents,” Fever general manager Amber Cox declared. “She has formed the foundation of our franchise since her 2023 draft. This historic extension rewards her contributions and cements her as a cornerstone for years ahead. Aliyah has only scratched the surface of her potential.”
