Journalist, 27, Wins Bail in Alleged Satanic Child Abuse Ring

Published on

A 27-year-old self-proclaimed investigative journalist accused of leading a Sydney-based pedophile network has secured bail after five months in custody. Landon Ashton Versace Germanotta-Mills faces multiple charges related to child abuse material and bestiality content shared among ring members.

Authorities allege the group distributed thousands of disturbing images and videos showing abuse of infants and children up to age 12. Germanotta-Mills was arrested in November at a dramatic scene where he wore a zebra-print outfit and concealed his face with a blue beanie.

Charges Faced

Germanotta-Mills faces seven counts of using a carriage service to produce child abuse material, additional counts for accessing such material, and three counts for possession via carriage service. He also confronts two counts of disseminating bestiality material and one for possession.

Bail Hearing and Conditions

During a video appearance from South Coast Correctional Centre before the New South Wales Supreme Court, Germanotta-Mills sought release to reside with his mother in the regional town of Wellington. Despite prosecutorial objections, Justice Belinda Rigg approved bail, determining that strict conditions could mitigate risks.

Key bail terms include home detention with no child visitors allowed, daily reporting to police, abstinence from drugs and alcohol, prohibition on witness contact, a complete ban on phones and internet access, and surrender of his passport.

Background and Network

Germanotta-Mills established the Underground Media Network, an independent platform focused on exposing institutional failures, police corruption, and child protection shortcomings.

Three other men were arrested alongside him at a unit complex in Malabar and charged in connection with the network. None of the accused have entered pleas yet.

The case returns to Wellington Local Court on May 27.
