The teenage son of actress Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy made a rare public appearance, joining his mother at the Los Angeles premiere of the second season of Netflix dramedy Running Point.
Bing Bellamy Supports Mom at Star-Studded Event
Bingham ‘Bing’ Bellamy, who turns 15 in July, stood nearly as tall as his mother while posing for photos on Wednesday. Hudson stars as the president of a Los Angeles basketball team in the series. Her fiancé, musician Danny Fujikawa, 39, also attended the event.
Bing opted for a casual California look with a white shirt and dark slacks. Hudson turned heads in a glamorous white asymmetrical draped gown featuring a crescent-shaped collar. The 14-year-old appeared in the background as his mother signed autographs.
A Musical Talent with Business Savvy
Born in California, Bing showcases impressive musical skills on the drums, making his parents proud. He also demonstrates strong business acumen, developing an early interest in the stock market as a pre-teen. Hudson once joked that he would manage her investment portfolio by age 12.
Blended Family Bonds
Bing shares a close resemblance to his father, as Hudson has noted. He enjoys sun-filled vacations with his blended family, which includes older half-brother Ryder, 22, from Hudson’s marriage to ex-husband Chris Robinson, and younger half-sister Rani Rose, 7, with Fujikawa.
Hudson takes pride in her ‘patchwork family.’ ‘It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside, I feel like we’re killing it. The unit that I’ve created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it’s ours,’ she stated in a 2022 interview.
Last month, Ryder accompanied Hudson to the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars party following her second Oscar nomination for Song Sung Blue. ‘I’ve never been more proud of my mother,’ Ryder said on the red carpet. ‘I have to say, I’ve seen my mom close up more than anybody… put in more work and more dedication and more time than I’ve ever seen in my life. And it’s just such a beautiful thing.’
Hudson’s Parenting Philosophy
Hudson encourages her children to embrace life fully. She advises them: ‘Make tons of mistakes and have fun and be rebellious. Don’t let anybody tell you how to do your thing, you know? Be good people – that’s all I care about, and have real self-possession.’ She emphasizes internal happiness and a content life.
Hudson herself grew up in a blended family with mother Goldie Hawn, longtime partner Kurt Russell—whom she calls Pa—and biological father Bill Hudson. ‘I’ve got multiple dads, I’ve got kids all over the place,’ she once quipped.
